Bio ::
Jackie Pasquerella became the second member of the Riptide to win the National Pro Fastpitch Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2007. In doing so she accomplished the incredible feat of committing no errors in 38 games in which she had over 150 chances. During the Riptide championship season in 2006 she committed only three errors while always robbing the opponents of potential hits. In addition to being one of the finest defensive third basemen to ever play, Pasquerella has contributed to the Riptide offense. She was 2nd on the team in average in 2006 and was chosen as one of three Riptide players on the all NPF team. Pasquerella joined the Riptide in 2006 after spending 2004 and 2005 seasons with the NY/NJ Juggernaut, picking up her first of two championship rings in the process. In 2002, she traveled to Italy to play for team Saronno. While batting in the leadoff spot for team Saronno, she was named best hitter at the Friendly Tournament in Caronno, Italy. During her career at Villanova, Pasquerella was explosive offensively, and became the first Wildcat to ever receive All-Big East honors four years in a row, after leading the conference in batting average for four consecutive years. She ended her sophomore season ranked 4th in batting average in the NCAA and was the 13th most difficult batter to strike out in the nation.
